Sean R. Wallace is the Group Head of Corporate Finance at Standard Chartered, responsible for driving the Bank’s M&A, leveraged finance, equity, project and export finance, structured finance and structured trade finance businesses in its core markets of Asia, Africa and the Middle East. Based in Singapore, Sean is also a member of the Wholesale Banking Management Group reporting to the CEO of the Wholesale Bank Mike Rees.
Prior to Standard Chartered, Sean was with Franklin Templeton’s private equity arm, Darby Overseas Investments Ltd, where he was head of their Asian operations since April 2007.
Before Franklin Templeton, Sean was a Managing Director at JP Morgan where he spent almost six years in Asia Pacific as Head of Capital Markets, Asia Pacific and prior to that as Co-Head of Investment Banking, Asia Pacific ex-Japan. As a business leader for JP Morgan in Asia, Sean was responsible for designing and implementing a broad restructuring of the Investment Banking and Capital Markets teams post the mergers of Chase, JP Morgan, Jardine Fleming and subsequently BancOne. Under his leadership, the businesses in Asia Pacific improved its financial performance, raised its league table positions in equities, convertible bonds and debt products and won numerous awards. Prior to transferring to Asia, Sean was head of JP Morgan's North American Telecom Group.
Sean graduated from Harvard College in 1985 with an AB in History and Economics and received an MBA from Harvard Business School in 1989.
