Hugh Thomas is a Managing Director and is the Head of Energy and Natural Resources for Asia Pacific. Hugh joined J.P Morgan in 2007 and has over 24 years experience in investment banking and strategy consulting. He had also been appointed as the Managing Director of an Australian listed company.

Hugh holds a Bachelor of Arts degree and post graduate qualification in pure finance. He is also a registered Chartered Accountant (Australia). He was involved in a wide range of transactions across the Natural Resources industry including PTT (Thailand) acquisition of Straits Resources Limited, Chinalco US$19.5 bn cash investment in Rio Tinto's subordinated convertible bonds and selected assets and Vedanta Resources $1.25 bn high yield bond.
