Derek Armstrong is a Managing Director of Credit Suisse in the Investment Banking division, based in Hong Kong. He is Head of Debt Financing Group, Asia and is responsible for Debt Capital Markets, Leveraged Finance and Syndicated Loan Finance.
Derek joined Credit Suisse in April 2007 from Goldman Sachs where he was Head of Leveraged Finance. Prior to that, he worked at Credit Suisse, originally joining in 1993. Derek has worked both in New York and Hong Kong, in the Leveraged Finance and Debt Capital Markets groups.
Derek started his career as an associate consultant at the management consulting firm of Bain & Company in London. He is now Credit Suisse's most senior Asian debt banker with over 15 years of relevant experience in advising governments, financial institutions, corporations and financial sponsors on all aspects of debt financing.
Derek holds degrees in Microelectronic, Electrical Engineering and Mathematics from Trinity College, University of Dublin, Ireland, and a MBA from the Harvard Business School.
