David Lee |
David Lee has been involved for a number of years in the compliance and advisory aspects of Singapore taxation and has had exposure and experience with a diverse portfolio of clientele in KPMG, from a board spectrum of industries including fund management, growth funds, insurance, manufacturing, trading and investment companies.
David was also extensively involved in assisting the Singapore Technologies Group, Capitaland Group, Tan Chong companies etc. in various restructuring, asset securitisation and other projects which required liaison with and making representations to the tax and other government authorities for rulings and clarifications. Incidentally, David has also assisted the Jurong Town Corporation, a Singapore statutory board streamline and corporatise its business driven divisions and units. David was also the KPMG lead tax partner for the more recent global acquisition, restructuring and merger of the Raffles and Fairmont hotel chains. Recent engagements involved working with KPMG colleagues on proposed outbound investments to Egypt, Turkey, UAE, Iran and Iraq, apart from the more traditional Asian countries.
David has over 25 years of Singapore and regional tax experience, having been part of the corporate management team of major multinational groups that included Texas Instruments, Brown and Root, Rockwater and Halliburton, with tax management responsibilities for the Far East. He has been involved in a board array of projects, including mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures and inbound and outboard investments.
David is a network member of KPMG Global Insurance, Mergers & Acquisitions and Supply Chain and the Director-in-charge of Supply Chain, Mergers & Acquisitions and Insurance, Singapore. He is also a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountant of Singapore. David graduated with a Bachelor of Accountancy from the National University of Singapore.
