Rohit joined Macquarie in 1999 and has worked in Macquarie offices in Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and Sydney. Rohit has over 10 years of corporate finance experience and his previous experience includes working in the M&A division of Bankers Trust and the Corporate Finance Division of PricewaterhouseCoopers.
Rohit has been based in Singapore since 2003 and is the Head of the Industrials Group for South East Asia and has also been active in transactions across the Asia Pacific region, Indian subcontinent and Middle East.
EXPERIENCE
Peace Mark (Holdings) Limited- Advising Peace Mark on the proposed S$530m takeover of Sincere Watch Limited to create the largest luxury watch retailer in the region.
- Advised Olam on the A$166m takeover of Queensland Cotton Limited to create the world's fourth largest cotton supply chain manager.
- Advised Olam on the acquisition of a 19.9% shareholding in Open Country Cheese, a fast growing dairy products company based in New Zealand.
- Advised Asia Pacific Breweries on its US$105m acquisition of the Vietnam brewing business of Foster's Group Limited to further increase APB's lead as the largest premium brewer in Vietnam.
- Advised Vestey Group on the sale of its Asian food service group, Angliss Asia, to Bidvest Group Ltd. Angliss Asia is one of the largest food service companies in Singapore, Hong Kong and the PRC.
- Advised the shareholders of MAEH on the sale of the company to HSBC Private Equity. MAEH is the largest industrial waste services company in Indonesia and Thailand.
- Advised British Telecommunications on the divestment of its shareholdings in StarHub, Singapore"s second largest telecommunications operator; LG Telecom, South Korea’s third largest wireless telecommunications company; and Maxis, Malaysia's largest wirless telecommunications company.
- Advised Brunei Investment Agency on the RM380m divestment of its shareholding in Malaysia Airlines to the Malaysian Government Pension Fund.
- Advised Brambles on the initial analysis of the merger between Brambles and GKN’s industrial services businesses to create one of the world’s largest industrial service companies.
- Advised a consortium comprising British Aerospace and Tenix on their bid for ADI Ltd, the Australian national defence company.
- Advised Principal Financial Group on its public market takeover of the BT Hotel Group.
- Advised Billabong on its strategy leading up to it’s A$600m initial public offering.
- Advised TAB Ltd on its proposed acquisition of the Adelaide Casino and several other gaming companies in Australia.
