Mr Luu joined the Monetary Authority of Singapore (the MAS) in August 2005 and is currently Head of the Financial Markets Strategy Department (FSD). He is responsible for developing the capital markets in Singapore to facilitate fund raising by both local and foreign companies, and the adoption of Singapore as a home-base by financial institutions to tap into regional and international potentials. Prior to joining the MAS, Mr Luu spent 16 years in investment banking with ABN AMRO Rothschild, Citigroup and Credit Suisse in Hong Kong, New York and Singapore. His last position held at the investment banking firms was Managing Director and Head of Equity Capital Markets for North Asia, where he led a team of ECM specialists to originate equity and equity-linked products targeted at global investors.
Mr Luu was a Mason Fellow at the Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University class of 2005, where he graduated and was awarded the Littauer fellowship based on academic excellence and leadership potential. Mr Luu obtained his MBA from New York University, Stern School of Business in 1990 and a BBA from the National University of Singapore in 1987. Mr Luu is also a Chartered Financial Analyst.
