Glenn H. Schiffman |
Glenn H. Schiffman is a Managing Director and Head of Investment Banking Asia Pacific. He is a member of Nomura’s Asia Executive Management Committee and Nomura’s Global Banking Executive Committee. Prior to Nomura’s acquisition of Lehman Brothers, Glenn was Head of Investment Banking Asia Pacific at Lehman Brothers. He was also a member of Lehman’s Investment Banking Executive Committee, Business Development Committee and Senior Client Council. He was also a member of the Asia Executive Committee at Lehman Brothers. As an Asia Executive Committee member, Glenn and his partners managed the sale of Lehman’s Asian business to Nomura in September of 2008.
Glenn has almost 20 years of investment banking experience having started at Lehman Brothers in 1991. Over his career he has executed financings as well as M&A transactions well in excess of $100 billion.
In Glenn’s nearly two years in Asia with Lehman, he presided over significant growth in Lehman’s operations in the investment banking business by increasing headcount over 50% and revenue 100%. Such efforts were recognized by FinanceAsia magazine when Lehman won Momentum House of The Year in 2007. Further under Glenn’s leadership, Lehman achieved a #3 ranking in G3 debt issuance and achieved a #1 ranking in completed M&A.
As Head of Asia Pacific Investment Banking Division (IBD) at Nomura, Glenn lead the integration and subsequent rationalization of the Nomura and Lehman investment banking businesses as well as selective incremental hiring to fill key holes in the resulting organization. Quickly after the integration, Nomura IBD achieved significant milestones such as re-establishing a number one position in completed M&A in 2008 and a number one position in announced M&A in early 2009.
