Experience and Industry Expertise: Started tax career in 1990 in New Zealand and joined Coopers & Lybrand Singapore in 1992.
Seconded to PwC London M&A tax, in 1997 for two years.
Served the General Electric Company (GE) for over six years in several roles as the Pacific Tax Director for the Industrial and Infrastructure businesses, and in the United States (US) as an International Tax Director. His career in GE included planning and managing the US and global taxes, reporting for SEC/US GAAP purposes and taking the tax lead for the purchase and sale of several GE businesses globally spanning across Asia, Europe and the Americas. Broad experience in international tax planning and compliance, together with US FAS109 and FIN48 matters.
Rejoined PwC in 2007, servicing private equity, financial and strategic clients from the US, Europe, the Middle East and Asia, providing tax structuring, planning and due diligence services.
Key Projects: Led numerous tax engagements which include, amongst others: Successful acquisition of and structuring for a Singapore power generation group of companies. Structuring for the sale of materials engineering and manufacturing global company headquartered in the US. Restructuring of debt for a public to private deal in Singapore with significant manufacturing and service operations in Singapore and the region. Provided key structure advice and financial modelling for the public to private MBO by an engineering company with key operations in the United Kingdom and Singapore. Successful restructure of aviation operations in Singapore with rulings for income tax and stamp duties resulting in tax-debt arbitrage.
