What is the AIBC?
The Asia Investment Banking Conference (AIBC) is a two-day event designed to provide senior professionals, reputable academics and the brightest students with the opportunity to meet and discuss topics relating to the corporate finance industry
Where will the AIBC be held?
The AIBC will be held at the Singapore Management University (SMU)'s City Campus, in the Administration Building
When and at what time will the AIBC be held?
The AIBC will be held on Wednesday 23 September and Thursday 24 September 2009, from 930am to 630pm. The full schedule can be found here
Who is hosting the AIBC?
The AIBC is co-hosted by the London School of Economics (LSE) and Singapore Management University (SMU). You can find out more about the two organisers here
Who can attend the AIBC?
It is open to all undergraduates and post-graduates from any university or tertiary institutions
How many people are expected to attend the AIBC?
There will be 350 students selected to participate in the Conference
Who will be speaking at the AIBC?
Senior professionals from the financial services industry, representing the largest and most recognized institutions globally. This exact list can be found here
What is the conference dress code?
The conference dress code is business formal
Registration Questions
How do I register for the AIBC?
Registration for the AIBC can be done online here. Please note that we only accept online registrations. Registration closes on 14 August 2009*
What other documents do I have to submit along with my registration?
You will be required to submit a 1-page CV. All applicants will go through a screening process before being selected to attend the conference
Why do I need to submit my CV?
We expect more applicants than the number of limited seats available. As such, CVs serve to distinguish each applicant so that the most suitable candidates will be chosen
How will the screening process be done?
The screening process will involve a thorough review of each applicant's CV, paying particular attention to academic results, extra curricular activities and general interest in the finance industry
Do I have to register in advance?
Yes, attendance to the conference is by registration only. Registration closes on 14 August 2009*
How much does it cost to attend?
The cost of attendance for the two day conference is SGD$100
What is included in the conference package ?
The price of SGD$100 includes admission for the two day conference, morning refreshments, lunch and tea breaks on each day of the conference. Participant’s pack and conference materials will also be provided
I am only able to attend part of the conference; am I eligible for a discount?
Unfortunately, we are unable to offer discounts to any applicants. If you are only able to attend part of the conference, you will still have to pay the full price of SGD$100

Will my chances of acceptance increase if I apply early?
Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis and as such, we encourage early applications
How will I know that my registration was successful?
You will receive an official invitation via e-mail once we have accepted your application. You will then be asked to make payment within 3 days
When will I know that my registration was successful?
Due to overwhelming response, we are still in the process of reviewing applications. The final date of notification has been extended till 3rd September 2009
Travel and Accommodation Questions
Do I have to pay for my travel expenses and accommodation?
Yes. With the kind support of the AIBC sponsors, the admission price has been set at a subsidised rate of SGD$100. Participants will be required to make their own travel and accommodation arrangement
What overnight accommodation is available?
Please refer to the information on the recommended accommodation – (http://www.lsesmu-aibc.logistics2.html). Our partner hotels and hostels are offering a special rate to AIBC participants only
How do I get from my hotel/hostel to SMU?
